Mar 13, 2020, 9:45 am The GPPWFL Board has been closely monitoring the news regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have also been monitoring the directives put forth by government authorities, specifically Alberta Health Services in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been in contact with our league insurance provider as well as a phone conference with our governing Board Football Alberta, and after careful consideration the GPPWFL has decided to cease all league operations temporarily. This means that no GPPWFL team will hold any practices, meetings or gatherings (this includes in person registration & equipment handout) of any nature. We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis in conjunction with our governing Board Football Alberta and Alberta Health Services directives. We regret this decision but after careful consideration, the Board believes that this is the proper action to take at this time. We hope that matters get better and we can resume operations, however, the health of everyone is of upmost concern.
Please note that as of today the season has NOT been cancelled - however if you as a parent feel that you would like to withdraw your player's registration, please send official notice of withdrawal by email to gppwfl@hotmail.com - Attention Jodianne Noel. If you have registered through our online portal, a refund will be proceed electronically, minus any transaction fees to the original payment processed. If your payment option was cash, debit, Kidsport or otherwise - no refund will be issued as no funds were exchanged.
Please direct all questions or concerns to gppwfl@hotmail.com. Mar 12, 2020, 3:32 pm
Aug 6, 2019, 7:34 pm The Board has set the date for the 2019 AGM
September 10th, 2019 Nordbord Room (2nd Floor in the Coke Cola Centre) 7pm-9pm
We invite everyone to attend, there will be some key members giving their notice at the end of the 2020 season and we really need some like minded members to join the Board for the following season.
We would alos love to have you join us so that we can shed some light on the role & place of the GPPWFL in the MPPWFL. We know there were some questions regarding game locations and how that all works - and the AGM will be the place to learn how the league has evolved over the past 2 seasons. There are also some major changes on the horizon for the 2020 season as well - the league will be moving to 9man ball and fine tuning the age levels for the GPPWFL.
